CES 2007 Video: Why Are You Here?
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gizmatic, Short Bytes, CES, CES 2007, Features, Misc. Tech, Videocasts,
CES is a monstrosity, spanning several million square feet of exhibition space and with every breed of gadget you’d ever expect to find. It’s really quite ridiculous. That being the case, we thought we’d survey the guests and ask what they were most excited about, and what they were there to see. The resounding consensus? “New stuff.”

While we were walking the show floor, we caught a glimpse of a robotic dragonfly flying above our heads. We followed it back to it’s home, which was the Wow Wee both, and chatted with them about this fun little flying robotic device. Oh, and it’s cheap too - all this fun for just $50 USD.

CES 2007 Video: Piano Wizard Teaching Software
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gizmatic, Short Bytes, CES, CES 2007, Features, Music, PC / Laptop, Software, Videocasts,
What do you get if you combine DDR and a Piano? Piano Wizard! The Piano Wizard teaches basic music notation and piano playing skills in a somewhat childish interface. Don’t get me wrong - it sounds like a great idea for kids, but the company seems to be marketing it at ages 4-40, and I’m not so so sure if it will succeed in the teen and up market.
Check out the video for it’s DDR-tastic interface, and some hot MIDI love.

CES 2007 Video: Hobbytron’s Airsoft Guns
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gizmatic, Short Bytes, CES, CES 2007, Features, Misc. Tech, Videocasts,
Hobbytron was at CES in force with their Airsoft guns, a mess free alternative to paintballs. Airsoft guns are battery powered guns that shoot small plastic pellets akin to BBs, only much more realistically. The Airsoft guns are made of metal and have a serious heft to them. Mind you - these things look dangerous - we wouldn’t let kids play with these, lest an eye get shot out. Check out the video for the Airsoft gun, and a quick view of our mad 1337 shooting skills.
